Wakey’s Service Fee Guide
No surprises here. This guide outlines Wakey Internet’s common service and incidental fees so you know what to expect when making changes to your service, requesting technician work, returning equipment or managing your account.
A Quick Note About Service Fees
Many of these charges reflect costs Wakey incurs from our last-mile network vendors, shipping partners and payment providers when specific work or account changes are requested.
Unless otherwise noted, applicable fees are typically prepaid and will appear on your Wakey Internet subscription bill.
Taxes applicable to your service address are additional and are not included in the amounts shown below.
Getting Connected
Fees that may apply when starting, restoring or moving your Wakey Internet service.
Activation / Outlet Installation / Active Transfer
$49
This fee applies to the activation of a new Wakey Internet subscription and may include an active transfer or outlet installation where applicable.
Did Wakey waive your activation fee?
From time to time, Wakey may waive the $49 activation fee — representing approximately $55–$100+ in value depending on the activation.
If the activation fee was waived and your Wakey Internet plan is cancelled within 180 days of activation, the original $49 activation charge will be retroactively billed. This applies to new Wakey Internet subscriptions activated from January 15, 2025 onward.
Other Connection & Service Fees
Security Deposit — $60
Returned when all Wakey-loaned hardware, including the necessary cables, is returned in good working condition.
Outlet Relocation — $79
Includes a technician visit.
Reactivation — $49
Applies to eligible accounts cancelled within the previous 90 days.
Address Change / Move Fee — $49
Includes a technician visit if one is deemed necessary.
Making Changes to Your Service
Need to swap equipment or change your Internet speed? Here’s what applies.
Service Changes
Modem Swap — No Charge
There is no modem swap fee when replacing eligible Wakey-loaned hardware.
Speed Change — $12
Applies when upgrading or downgrading your Internet speed or plan.
Equipment Returns
Wakey equipment is loaned to you while you maintain eligible service. When service is cancelled or equipment is replaced, please make sure everything makes its way back to us.
Please Return Equipment Within 15 Days
Unreturned Wakey-loaned equipment may be charged to your account if it is not returned within 15 days. Please remember to return the equipment itself along with its applicable power and Ethernet cables.
Unreturned Equipment Charges
Cable Modem — $120
Applies to an unreturned Wakey-loaned cable modem.
Fibre Modem — $290
Applies to an unreturned Wakey-loaned fibre modem.
Fibre Router — $150
Applies to an unreturned Wakey-loaned fibre router.
Beacon — $60
Applies to an unreturned Wakey-loaned Beacon.
Missing Power Cable or Ethernet Cable — $15
Applies when required cables supplied with Wakey-loaned equipment are not returned.
Shipping, Payments & Account Fees
Shipping & Re-Shipment
Shipping Fee — $15
Applies to shipments after the initial included equipment shipment. This fee does not include equipment returns.
Re-Shipment Fee — $25
Applies when hardware must be shipped again due to the original shipment being unclaimed.
Payment & Account Fees
Suspension / Restore Fee — $24
Applies when payment reaches 7 days beyond its due date and service is suspended and subsequently restored.
NSF — Direct Debit — $45
Applies when a direct-debit payment is returned for non-sufficient funds.
Dispute / Chargeback Recovery Fee — $45
Applies when Wakey incurs costs associated with a payment dispute or chargeback.
Overdue Account Interest
22% per annum
Interest is applied to outstanding balances on overdue accounts at a rate of 22% per annum.
